With the start of contact with athletes coming next week I want to remind everyone of the importance of preventing heat related illnesses.
When the heat index reaches the danger zone (Orange) plan accordingly. Provide shade/relocate indoors, offer hydration pre and during practices, offer adequate breaks, spend time teaching to take breaks from drills.
When the heat index reaches the extreme zone (Red) plan to relocate indoors or cancel practices and games if indoor teaching or drills is not an option.
