Boys basketball season enters final week

The boys basketball season enters its final week with the last regular season games scheduled for Tuesday.

The 7th grade Division 1 seedings are final despite there being one game left.  Valley View has won the regular season and has earned the top spot for the tournament.  In 7th grade Division 2 Camino has earned the top spot followed by CMP.  CHSA, Sierra Ridge and Gold Trail are seeking the 3-5 seeds.  Pleasant Valley has earned the 6th seed and will play in against Division 3’s top team Golden Hills on Wednesday.  Millers Hill and Mountain Creek are both playing for the last spot in the play in games.

The 8th grade Division 1 top 4 seeds are in place with Pleasant Grove winning the regular season.  In Division 2 it is still very wide open as no teams have solidified their position and the final games on Tuesday will play an important role in determining that.  Golden Hills has earned the top seed for Division 3 and will have a play in game against the 6th seed for D2 on Wednesday.

Division 2 and 3 have play in games scheduled for Wednesday at Herbert Green starting at 3:30.

The official start to the tournament is Friday afternoon at 4pm at El Dorado High School.  Teams in both Division 1 and Division 2 will compete Friday and Saturday for the chance to earn a Championship banner.  Quarterfinal games will be held Friday night with semifinals and championships on Saturday.

The schedule for the tournament will be set on Tuesday evening after all of the final regular season results have been recorded.
