Week 3 of the flag football and volleyball seasons are upon us. Teams have three more full weeks of games to qualify for their position in this year’s playoff tournaments.
In flag football Division 2 Camino is the lone undefeated team remaining for both 7th grade and 8th grade. There are 3 undefeated teams in the 7th grade D1 standings. Pleasant Grove, Markham, and Herbert Green hold those spots. This week PG plays both Markham and HG. The 8th grade D1 division has Pleasant Grove at the top with a 2-0 record. Valley View is close behind and still undefeated. Miller’s Hill has an undefeated D3 record thus far and sits atop of the two team Division.

On the volleyball side of things there are just a few unbeaten teams remaining. In 7th grade D1 Markham is the lone team undefeated and in 8th grade D1 it is Markham and John Adams sitting at 2-0 each. In D2 for the 7th grade CHSA and Camino are still unbeaten, while in 8th grade for D2 it is CMP and Camino.

This week marks the beginning of our cross country qualifying meets. Over the next 4 weeks athletes from our 40 schools will compete to obtain one of our league’s qualifying times for the finals. An athlete who qualifies and is in the top portion of their team will get to run at the county finals on Wednesday, October 15th at the EDC Fairgrounds. Races this week are on Wednesday at Herbert Green, Camino, Valley View, Northside, Indian Creek, and the EDH CSD hosted by Oak Meadow and one meet on Thursday at Golden Sierra.
